2012 Winter Wonderland
2012 Winter Wonderland ride
We went off with a bang. 23 riders to start, plus 2 more joined us along the way. Weather cold and rainy and crappy, but our spirits and enthusiasm stayed strong the whole time. Thanks to the Dan O’connell for the relaxed dress code.
Friday 8th June
At the Lord Newry Hotel – 543 Brunswick Street, Fitzroy Nth
Leaving Lord Newry at 8pm for a nearby outdoor undressing location.
This ride is a lot shorter than the summer ride and will be a fun jaunt thru city streets with other chilly souls. We’ll finish at a PUB where we can warm our outsides (and insides).
Bring a working bike, GOOD lights, maybe some reflective-ness: Be Visible 🙂
Also bring a bag to carry your clothes.
Dress code as always is ‘As bare as you dare’
(gloves, scarves, etc might be nice against the cold)
The Bailieu government has stripped all funding for bicycle projects from the budget. So we’ll be stripping off our clothes to show our frustration with Bailieu’s short-sighted budget priorities. Bicycle funding is a long-term investment in the health of our society and our planet!
It’s also a chance to show for support the Northern hemisphere ride which takes place on the same weekend.
